Sharon Day

Sharon Day is an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe. An artist and activist working for women, LGBTQIA+, Indigenous peoples, and the environment, she has served as the founding Executive Director of Indigenous Peoples Task Force since 1990, developing and implementing culturally-appropriate HIV education and services for Native people. Since 2011 Sharon has led Nibi (Water) Walks, extended ceremonies where community walks, prays and sings from the headwaters of a river to its mouth.
